Healthcare
Hospitals and mental health facilities that work for patients and staff
Healthcare buildings are complex, requiring compliance, resilience, and performance under pressure. Rest assured, we can handle everything from small specialist units to major acute hospital projects, scaling our approach to suit.
Working closely with clinical teams to understand how their facilities need to operate so we can engineer around it.

Over 25 years working with NHS Trusts
Since 1998, we’ve delivered over 450 million in healthcare construction. Having worked with multiple trusts across England, designing everything from emergency departments to specialist mental health facilities, we know the latest guidelines (HBN, HTM) inside and out. More importantly, we know how to talk to clinical teams about what really matters to them.

Designed for people and place
MEP Consultants tend to think about healthcare buildings in terms of systems: ventilation, lighting, safety etc. But we think about how people experience the space first. So it’s about understanding the noise levels, shadows and things like rapid cooling. All of these sensory details fundamentally shape patient outcomes and staff wellbeing. That’s why we design from a people perspective first, then engineer everything around that.

Energy and Sustainability
Operational costs are tight and sustainability is becoming more and more important, which is why we design for performance from day one. Interrogating every stage of the design process by key questions about how will the building be used and what the clinical workflow is so we can reduce energy without compromising patient care.
We involve the right people at the right time so decisions stick. A recent example: a £30m acute hospital project. BREEAM outstanding, ENE 01 credit score of 9, on track for net zero operational carbon.
